Jordan Stubbs (b.1993) currently splits his time between family in Kathleen, Georgia and Daytona Beach, Florida. He graduated from Georgia State University with a BFA in photography in 2014. After graduation, his practice shifted to sculpture, drawing, and painting. His ever-expanding but still restricted stable of visual motifs -drops, an eclipsed Sun, flowers, dancerly figures, an archway, a window, lightning, fire, road markings- are constantly combined into graphic 2D compositions, countlessly recombined, and explored across mediums. Jordan draws comparison between our built, expanding environment and its failure to the very private experience of our emotional lives at home or inside of ourselves. He has shown work with the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center, Hi-Lo Press, MINT Gallery, and Suede Gallery in Edinburgh, UK.
